Rodolfo Curiel, MD Rodolfo Curiel, MD, FACP, FACR is the Division Director and Director of the GW Myositis Center and Associate Professor of Medicine at The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates. A native of Buenos Aires, Dr. Curiel graduated with a degree in Medicine from the University of Buenos Aires. After moving to Washington, DC, Dr. Curiel worked for three years at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD as a visiting scientist conducting research related to cardiomyopathies and aortic valve disorders. Dr. Curiel pursued further residency and fellowship training in Internal Medicine at Providence Hospital and Rheumatology at the George Washington University. He has an active clinical practice caring for patients with autoimmune diseases. Dr. Curiel is a member of several professional societies, including The American College of Physicians and The American College of Rheumatology. He is certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. He is also a member of the DC Rheumatism Society since 1999, Vice-President from 2008-2009, and President from 2009-2010. He has also been awarded as one of the Washingtonian magazine’s Top Doctors consistently since 2008. |

Nadine Mbuyi, MD RhMSUS Nadine N. Mbuyi, MD, RhMSUS is a Rheumatologist and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She also serves as program director of the rheumatology fellowship. She completed her rheumatology fellowship at Brown University where she received training on the diagnosis and management of a broad range of rheumatic diseases. She is dedicated to providing exceptional care to her patients and she is passionate about medical education. Her clinical interests include lupus, vasculitis, rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthropathies, crystalline arthropathies, and the management of rheumatic diseases in pregnancy. She has expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound having completed the rigorous Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists (USSONAR) training. She is certified in musculoskeletal ultrasound by the American College of Rheumatology. Dr. Mbuyi has published various peer-reviewed articles in prominent rheumatology journals, she has presented her work at various local, national, and international conferences including the American College of Rheumatology Annual meeting, and she has earned several professional awards. She was selected to participate in the 2020 American College of Rheumatology/EULAR exchange program, an international academic exchange program designed to recognize outstanding early career faculty in rheumatology research and to promote international exchange of clinical and research skills. Dr. Mbuyi is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, and she is an active member of various professional societies including the American College of Rheumatology (ACR), the American College of Physicians (ACP), and the Association of Women in Rheumatology (AWIR). |

Patience White, MD, MA Patience H. White, MD, MA, MACR, MACP, FAAP is co-director, of the federally funded Got Transition, the National Center on Health Care Transition and emeritus professor of medicine and pediatrics at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. White received her degree in medicine from Harvard Medical School and a master’s degree in education from George Washington University School of Education and Human Development. Throughout her career, Dr. White has been active in academic medicine, clinical care, research, and public policy. She has served as director of the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology at Children’s National Hospital and the Division of Adult Rheumatology and associate dean of Faculty Affairs at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and Vice-president for Public Health and Health Policy for the Arthritis Foundation. In 2000-2001 Dr. White received a Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellowship and worked in the Senate Finance Committee on Medicare part D. Since 2010 as part of her work at Got Transition, she was actively involved in developing the nationally recognized Six Core Elements of Health Care Transition including an implementation guide. Dr. White, as co-director of Got Transition, provides quality improvement technical assistance on transition from pediatric to adult health care to integrated health care delivery systems, health plans, Title V agencies, pediatric and adult primary and specialty care practices, school-based health clinics, colleges, patient organizations and health provider professional societies. Over her career, she has received several awards for her work in patient care and advocacy, has been funded by grants from federal and state agencies and foundations and is currently funded by grants from Health and Human Services and two national foundations. Dr. White has published many peer-reviewed articles and policy papers in the fields of health care transition and rheumatology. Dr. White is an elected master of the American College of Rheumatology and the American College of Physicians and a fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is certified in internal medicine and rheumatology. Dr. White is a practicing pediatric and adult rheumatologist and an active member of the division of rheumatology at George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates. |

Sonia Silinsky Krupnikova Sonia Silinsky Krupnikova is a senior rheumatology fellow. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology and Physiology at the University of Maryland before coming to GW for medical school and primary care internal medicine residency. Her interests include clinical reasoning and medical decision-making, medical education, and preventive care in rheumatology. She is a native of the Washington, D.C. metro area and spends her free time with family and dancing West Coast Swing. |

Mohammed Abdulfatah Mohammed Abdulfatah is a senior rheumatology fellow. He is originally from Saudi Arabia and he graduated from King Abdulaziz medical school in Saudi Arabia with class honor. He completed a one-year research fellowship at the University of California San Diego. He completed Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City. Outside of work, he enjoys outdoor activities such as playing soccer, tennis, and kayaking. |

Marta Michalska-Smith Marta Michalska-Smith is a first-year fellow at George Washington University Hospital. She received her medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and completed a combined medicine-pediatrics residency program at the University of Minnesota. Her interests include transitional care and healthcare advocacy. |
